30-03-19 Extinction Rebellion Funeral March in Weston-Super-Mare

Extinction Rebellion Weston-super-Mare invites you to join in a symbolic funeral procession, die-in and silent vigil representing the death of plants, animals, humans and the planet due to the climate crisis now reaching a critical point. For this WE stand and take this procession to raise awareness.  Please join us.

Please arrive at the main (old) entrance to Weston-super-Mare Town Hall from 12.30 on Saturday 30th of March if you wish to attend a briefing and take on a role.

This will be a family friendly event and children are welcome to come with their faces painted of animals or even dressed as animals if they fancy! Please bring representations of species and habitat that we have lost or are losing in recent times. This could be a photograph, painting, stuffed toy or whatever you feel is appropriate to represent our collective grief and mourning. DRESS SMART. Dress for your future and come prepared for the weather. Dress out of respect for our planet and the lives that have been destroyed due to climate and ecological breakdown. Please also bring flags, banners, drums, and other musical instruments.

We are looking for people to help with various things including stewarding, legal observing, well-being support, BSL interpreting, PA system set up, music making and singing! Please get in touch if you can assist with any of this and please do come along to one of our next meetings. If you can't make it to a meeting you can still help so please do get in touch!
